Yes, it’s holiday time! Colleagues coming back from holiday tanned and you…well, you have to keep working just a little bit longer. No worries, we’ve all been in this situation. If you know that it’s nearly time for your holiday, it can be tricky to stay motivated. Working is obviously not as fun as lying on the beach in your new bikini. These tips will help get you through until your holiday!
Go outside
Taking a small break every now and then is good for you. Try to enjoy the lovely weather as much as you can and go outside during your breaks. Close your eyes and feel that gorgeous sun on your skin. Outside air makes you feel refreshed and you can focus again.
Daydream
Daydreaming is great – you have clear goals and that’s motivating! But make sure you don’t daydream too much. Tidy your desk up little by little each day so you feel more relaxed. And it’s a good idea to avoid social media as it’s probably full of other people’s holiday snaps.
Sleep
We all know we need enough sleep. But sleep is especially important before your holiday. If you’re tired you feel like you need a break even more. And when you’re feeling tired, you can’t stop thinking about that amazing holiday. This isn’t good for your concentration and you will feel less motivated. Schedule some more me-time, buy some comfy pyjamas and go to bed early!
Find a colleague
You probably aren’t the only one still waiting for holidays to start. Find a colleague who is also looking forward to her holiday. You can motivate and remind each other that it’s nearly holiday time. It’s not only more fun together, it’s also easier!
Work = holiday
You can look at it any way you want to, but at the end of the day, you have to work in order to pay from your dream holiday. Not going on holiday this summer? Then you’re probably going somewhere later in the year and everyone will envy you. Look at it this way: the more you work and earn, the more you can splurge on your next holiday 😉
