Tips for staying motivated
We’re all familiar with it. You’ve been exercising frequently and eating healthily and all of a sudden your motivation dries up. No worries – in this blog, Hunkemöller Ambassador Carmen gives you tips for staying motivated!
Of course, it’s great to have a major goal – except it’s often not feasible to achieve it within a set time. If, for example, you’re hoping to lose 15 kg in three months and you don’t succeed, it can be terribly demotivating, can’t it? Try setting smaller goals, goals that can be achieved more quickly. ‘From now on I’m going to exercise three times a week,’ for example This kind of goal works far better and is bound to give you a boost when you actually achieve it.
Track your progress
Almost all of us have a reason for exercising and eating healthily. One wants to lose weight, another wants to gain and, for both goals, it’s important to see how you’re progressing. Of course you can keep an eye on the scales, but that says nothing about your body composition (fat/muscle percentage). Take photographs or use a tape measure; it’s far more reliable.
You want to get back into that great dress this summer or you’ve got an old pair of jeans that no longer fits? Then hang it on the wardrobe. Naturally, this is a visual reminder but, most importantly, you know why you’re doing it.Remind yourself why you started exercising and eating healthily. You, yourself, are the only real motivation!
It might not be the most important thing when you’re exercising, but a cool sports outfit can be really motivating. Choose something comfortable, but choose items that make you feel self assured and sexy. A pretty print or a sexy leather look, for example! Take a look at the new Doutzen Stories collection – it’s my absolute favourite!
Last but not least; Just do it
A lot of people expect the motivation to come (back) automatically, but that’s not how it works. Doing it is what will actually motivate you. So don’t sit back and wait for the moment when you’re overflowing with motivation, because that moment could be a long time in coming. Take the first step, keep it up and the motivation will follow naturally!
