Staying healthy at work is not always easy. The food in the canteen (not to mention the vending machine full of chocolate), sitting for hours without moving and fatigue all play a role. Help is at hand! We have listed 5 tips to help you!
1. Take the stairs.
Convenient though it is to use the lift, try to take the stairs as often as possible. It has many more benefits than you might think. Climbing stairs is good for your fitness and it’s a quick way to burn calories. You start and end your day with a mini workout.
2. Make your lunch the night before.
Making a tasty and healthy lunch can take some time. So prepare your lunch the night before. That way, you avoid rushing and ending up eating in the less healthy canteen. Search the web for interesting, delicious recipes and introduce some variation.
3. Take your gym gear with you to work
If you’re out anyway, you might as well go straight to the gym. The transition is a lot easier if you don’t have to go home first. Plus you get the chance to show off your cute sportswear to your colleagues.
4. Take a walk at lunchtime
Lunchtime is the perfect time to recharge. If you spend all day indoors, it can be really nice to get some fresh air. So head outdoors for a walk. That way you get some exercise too and you’ll be ready to get back to work.
5. Don’t e-mail, walk
If you need to ask a colleague something, walk over and talk to them. It gives you a reason to take a short walk. It’s also a lot more personal and nicer.
