Outside gym: How to stay active in the sun
At last, we are allowed to go outside again, and besides, the weather is getting better by the day! Are you tired of all those workouts in your room, and have you watched every yoga video already? Then we have just the thing for you. There are plenty of sports that you can practice outdoors in the sun, and where you can still keep enough distance from others. So dust off your trainers, and let’s go outside!
Rollerblading is a sport that has recently become very popular again. You probably still have some skates tucked away somewhere in the barn. Rollerblading is an excellent form of cardio training, and it is also very good for your thighs. Your booty will thank you later. But do wear protection for your wrists and knees.
There are so many beautiful bicycle rides or forests where you can spend an afternoon. Explore with your friends, and pack a well-stocked picnic basket for the road. Cycling is also excellent cardio training, and you get to new places too.
Walking may not be the most intensive way of cardio training, but a brisk walk has a positive effect on your whole body. Take between 5,000 and 10,000 steps every day, and you’re all right! Put on a podcast or your favourite playlist, and hit the road!
Did you know that swimming uses the most muscles in your body? That’s a real workout. See if there’s an outdoor pool open nearby, or opt for a lake. Doing some laps is sure to exhaust you, but it’s definitely worth it.
Pull out your running shoes and head out. Whether you’re a beginner or you’ve been running before, everyone has to start somewhere! There are plenty of apps for your phone that guide you while running, and show you how you did it. Let’s burn those calories!
