The new Hunkemöller x Duckie Thot collection celebrates womxn and their power to change the world.
Hunkemöller has come together with South-Sudanese/Australian top model Duckie Thot to release this new collection that celebrates the power of inclusivity. The partnership started in 2019 and became even more important earlier this year when the Black Lives Matter Movement gained momentum. Duckie Thot is passionate about Black womxn’s rights and the Black Lives Matter movement. Being a Black womxn in the fashion industry, Duckie offered Hunkemöller a unique perspective on what we could do to further improve our diversity and inclusivity strategy.
“I’m not different, I am unique” – Duckie Thot.
The collection represents the power of inclusivity. With this collection, womxn of all skin-tones should feel empowered to embrace their uniqueness and live their most confident lives. The collection represents Duckie because it’s bold, it’s sexy, and it’s sure of itself, like herself. The silhouette of the bralettes, bodies, and high-waisted briefs are youthful. The main colors are bright neon pink and black highlighted with modern embroidery and graphical lace. The campaign images and videos were shot in London on a stage with neon lights and bold shapes, the most daring and creative photoshoot for Hunkemöller yet.
Along with creative collaboration, Duckie provided input into both campaign and marketing strategy, which includes a paid influencer campaign featuring Black womxn, as well as a call for customers to donate to ENAR (European Network Against Racism), the same BLM charity Hunkemöller supports.
Call for action
Become involved in the movement and donate directly to ENAR to support the cause. ENAR’s goal is to end structural racism in the EU based on race equality and equal distribution of power. ENAR was chosen by us together with Duckie due its connections with grassroots organizations in Europe that focus on projects that empower Black womxn.
