Nutrition tips for beautiful skin
From expensive moisturisers to homemade face masks, when it comes to our skin, we will try everything. But what we often don’t consider is that beauty also comes from within. So stop with all the expensive creams and crazy masks because these healthy foods will make your skin beautiful in no time! Here are 4 nutrition tips:
We love avocados! This delicious green fruit is sometimes called a superfood and with good reason. Avocados are jam packed with healthy fats and vitamin E. The healthy fats ensure that your skin stays supple and hydrated and vitamin E helps protect the skin. Besides being good for your skin, avocados have many more health benefits. They protect your eyesight, they help lower cholesterol and they regulate your blood sugar levels.
Tomatoes also protect your skin and keep it looking beautiful. Tomatoes contain lycopeen. This is a substance that makes your skin less susceptible to UV radiation. This reduces the amount of wrinkles and also the risk of skin cancer.
3. Dark chocolate
We didn’t need another excuse to eat chocolate but we have one anyway (yes!). Just like avocado, dark chocolate contains healthy fats which make your skin hydrated. Don’t believe the stories that dark chocolate will cause you to get spots – it’s the sugar in normal chocolate that causes these. So watch out for sugars!
4. Green tea
Drinking enough already helps take care of your skin, but green tea also helps prevent ageing of the skin. The antioxidants in green tea help keep your skin young. Green tea also helps fight bacterial infections which in turn help to prevent acne.
