The new ‘Designer Collections’ are designed to be seen! Our in-house designers now also have the chance to design their own signature collection. Designer Naomi has created a super stylish swimwear collection of true eye-catchers. We are fans!
How did it feel to design your own swimwear collection?
I was deeply honoured to get the chance to design a collection under my name, especially because my daily work involves print design, trends and concepts. I was given free rein to create something truly personal and translate all the trends I believe in.
How do the people around you respond to your first collection?
Their response is overwhelming! Personally I am also immensely proud of it, so I showed it to everyone whenever I got the chance. The collection is very personal because I’m showing something of myself and I can barely wait for the response from the Hunkemöller fans!
Can you tell something more about what you did to get inspiration?
I spend a lot of time analysing trends and examining the latest catwalk shows. I follow all fashion weeks, and so I let myself really be inspired by a number of great designers. I was particularly impressed by the summer shows by Gucci, Alexander Wan and Rodarte.
My swimwear collection features a lot of crop tops, halter triangle shape and longline bikinis. And, of course, it would not have been complete without a swimsuit. I wanted to design a collection with a jumpsuit and kimono that can be worn on the beach as well as to a festival or beach party.

A hip destination on a European beach or actually a slightly more exotic destination somewhere in Asia. Wherever you can combine sun, beach and party! The crop tops are not only suitable for the swimming pool. Combined with a short, you can perfectly wear them as a normal top.
What’s your ultimate favourite and why?
My personal favourite is the Dark Arts Halter bikini with the brazilian bottom. This is a new shape with an extremely feminine fit, just like the brazilian bottom that shows just a little more on the buttocks. Combined with the embroidered flowers, it’s a fun, sexy and cool look.
Finally, what can you give away about the next Designer Collection?
The fun part about the Designer Collection is that each time a new designer from the team gets the chance to create their own collection. The next collection will be the “Shero Gang” lingerie collection, which can be admired in the selected shops and online from July 2017.
